Soak

Soaking is a form of meditation and self-care that can be a great foundation for self-love.  A friend of mine once told me she gives herself either a physical and/or mental hug every morning upon waking.  This set a foundation of expressing love to oneself.  Once we are able to love ourselves, we can love the people around us from a full cup.  I heard recently that the body reacts similarly to a bath as it does a hug, due to the warmth and womb-like qualities, it helps the body release oxytocin, the love hormone.  It can also move the blood much akin to a cardio workout, so consult a medical professional before beginning if this is a new practice.
Once when simmering weeks on end what it is to be a creator and creating in the world, I had a vivid dream of a woman named Wen.  We were ducking and diving around an ancient land - then suddenly we were in a bath setting, sitting across from one another and she told me about the energies of the world - in a way akin to what you will find in the first pages of the I Ching.  I think in the dream state she was a representation of Source/Creator energy, and bathing a representation of source - incubating creative states, divine love, and such.  Do with that what you will.

Essential
Oil

I recommend going to your health foods grocer and perusing their sample bottles for what draws your nose - as those will bring your the best personalized aromatherapy experience.  I put 4-5 drops under the running water when drawing the bath.
My personal favorites are Frankincense, Bergamot, Rose, Vetiver,  Jasmine, & Spikenard
